Reba Swink Jones
Sep 10, 1929 - Nov 06, 2018
Reba Swink Jones came into the world on September 10, 1929 to parents George Isom Swink and Juel Lee Hart. As I end my life on November 6, 2018, I would like to pay tribute to my family. I was the middle child with an older sister, Mary Louise Swink Livengood (E. M.) and younger sister Georgie Ann Swink Allen (James L.). I grew up living on Yadkinville Highway and attending Old Town School. I graduated in 1947. I attended two years at Mars Hill College. I took a business course at Draughns Business College and went to work at Wachovia Bank. I married Wiley R. Jones Sr. on June 8, 1950. After raising my family of two children, Karen Lee Jones Lawson (J. R.) and Wiley R. Jones Jr., I had three grandchildren: J. R. (Buddy) Lawson (wife Esther Remeta), Gretchen Lee Lawson King, and Matthew Leon Jones (wife Amanda). I also have four great-grandchildren: Steven Lee Lawson-Lail, Landen Lee Lawson Bruton, Owen Jones, and Kaitlyn Reece. I have many nieces and nephews of which I am very fond.

I became very much interested in genealogy and joined a genealogy society. I became interested in the Daughters of the American Revolution, and soon after joining became the Registrar of the chapter for two years. I also belonged to the United Daughters of the Confederacy and to the Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century. Knowing that I had many more things to find out about my family, I started to research for other people and dug into finding what I needed for my own family.

May the love of God be passed to all of my family and that they each one may come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10 at Becks Baptist Church with Rev. TJ Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trellis Hospice, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

Online condolences may be made through www.salemfh.com.

Wiley I so sorry to hear about your loss. May God give you and your family peace and comfort during this time of loss in losing a loved one. We go back a long way from Bethania to my last visit with you and Reba at the restaurant in Pfafftown.

To the family of Reba Jones! I just adored Reba! She has been a buddy every Friday for years in my salon and I will truly miss her. We always had such a great time laughing! Thank you Reba!❤️

Aunt Reba was always kind to me. She praised the work of my parents raising my to adult hood. She also shared with me the happiest feelings I brought to my parents and others with my music. She was great to be around. You could expect her to relate many stories from all the different branches of our family. Her generous gift of genealogy and family stories helped many of us knowing where our roots were. In our later conversations we shared stories about the family. I enjoyed my time with aunt Reba and will cherish all the good times we shared. She is reunited with her 2 sisters and parents in heaven. If there is talking or laughing going on, or Lord will know it’s the Swink sisters at it again. May God bless her family and comfort them and all in the palm of his hands. God bless you aunt Reba.
