Ronald Keith Myers, 68, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Oaks Long Term Care after receiving hospice care for several months. He was born October 24, 1947 in Forsyth County to the late Mildred Owen Myers and Victor Alexander Myers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his in-laws Hugh M. Hampton Sr. and wife Lillian W. Hampton; and brothers-in law John C. Hampton and Hugh Hampton Jr. Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jane Alice Hampton Myers; two sons, Scott Alexander Myers and wife Bridget of Greensboro, and Brian Patrick Myers and wife Beth of Chippawa Falls, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his sisters-in law Laura Hampton Coker and Becky Hampton of Lexington; brother-in law Randolph Coker of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Myers graduated from Parkland High School and Appalachian State University where he majored in Education. As a new graduate he taught school at Paisley Jr. High School. He was also employed by Piedmont Airlines for a number of years. He retired early after developing Parkinson’s disease. A self-taught guitarist, he enjoyed playing for his friends and family. He collected music, historic memorabilia, and photographs of his family. He also enjoyed caring for dogs Heidi, Brandy, and Cammie. The family would like to thank the Oak’s staff for their kind and abiding care; and Ahngela Eggers, Liberty Hospice of Thomasville for the professional and tender final care.
