I am so sorry about Richard. He was a pleasure to work with on the Trustees and at all other times. I know if anyone has ever heard these words, it is Richard: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Wesley, John, and Sandra - May you feel God's comforting arms surrounding you at this sad time.

Dear Family: We knew Richard was ill, but our hearts are heavy to learn that he's no longer with us. He was "one of the good guys", fun to work with, dedicated to his tasks, knowledgeable, thoughtful, congenial, and so much more! He made our responsibilities at Calvary easy and he never complained if asked to help or do more. We'll remember him as a wonderful friend who was one of God's faithful.

Wesley and extended family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Richard for most of my years at Forsyth County. He was a good, hard working, Christian man. He loved his family and I think those are the best traits you can say about a person. I had recently found out he was ill. He isn't in pain any longer. I'll keep you and the family in my prayers. How do you say goodbye to such a wonderful man? Richard was one of the best! A hard worker, dedicated to his church, his family, his friends but most of all, his Wesley! Even in his last weeks, he wore that bright Richard smile .... always ready and willing to help anyone who needed him. Calvary Moravian Church has lost a true friend. John and Sandra, as you know, your brother was awesome. Wesley, as you said to me, you were blessed for 39 years. May those beautiful memories warm your heart and God's love bring you peace. I love you.

Wesley and family, my heart aches for you and I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I feel blessed and fortunate to have known Richard all of these years. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that he was truly a disciple of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and may you find joy in the memories of all of the wonderful times you shared. I will treasure memories of Buffet, bowling, golf, Mexico, The Outer Banks and so much more. I extend my heartfelt condolences and love to you all. Meg

My thoughts and prayers are with Wesley and the rest of their family at this time. It was truly a pleasure to work with both of you during this difficult journey. Richard was a wonderful, faithful spirit and always optimistic. This place will be a little duller with his absence but heaven is much brighter.

God strengthens us by giving us "the power beyond what is normal" to make it through each passing day. Psalm 46:1 says: "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress". Nahum 1:7; God "is a stronghold in the day of distress, and is mindful of those seeking refuge in him". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)

We are sorry for your loss. Richard was fun to bowl with and a good Pirate. May you have comfort in the many good memories we have had with his great spirit.

Gebo, my heart is sad and hurts for you. You gave Richard your love for all of his adult life and he gave you the same. Good friends are forever and Richard was one of those to me which started back in early 1970’s. ECU, March Madness, Card Games and weekly “cheeseburger” cookouts were a few highlights. Richard was always very passionate, joyful and gave his best effort which created an early impression on me. He lives on in all those he touched.
