Sarah Shaw Lambert
Jun 09, 1930 - Jan 24, 2016
Winston-Salem
Sarah Shaw Lambert died unexpectedly but peacefully on January 24, 2016 at her home in Arbor Acres Retirement Community in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in High Point, NC on June 9, 1930.
She was the only child of the late Richard H. and Amanda Cook Shaw. She attended High Point schools and graduated from Duke University in 1952. Mrs. Lambert was the devoted wife of David M. Lambert Sr. for 61 years until his death in 2012. Their love story began as teenagers and they devoted their lives to each other. Throughout her husband’s career with Westinghouse they lived in many locales in the Eastern United States and Canada. Together they retired to John’s Island, SC where they enjoyed the Seabrook Island community for 25 years. Mrs. Lambert moved to Winston-Salem in March 2014 to be near family.
She is survived by her son, David M. Lambert, Jr. (Kaye); her daughter Tina Lambert Thomas; her granddaughters Jamie, Amanda (Cody), Kayce and Kelly Thomas; her grandsons; "Trey" David III (Kate) and John Lambert (Ellen), and she had one great-grandson Ransome Lambert.
She was passionate about animals throughout her life and loved her dogs as family. Mrs. Lambert was a librarian for many years, and a lover of books all of her life. During her tenure at the Arbor Acres Retirement Community, she was a devoted member of the Sharps and Flats choral group. She was a lifelong Methodist.
The family wishes to express appreciation for the care and support given by Arbor Acres Retirement Community. Special thanks to Loma Hopkins and Art Bloom, Directors of Sharps and Flats.
A celebration of Sarah Lambert’s life will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Arbor Acres’ Fellowship Hall at 2:00 p.m. with visitation afterward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to support the Sharps and Flats Music Group at Arbor Acres, 1240 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

Condolences
Reggie Stocks
I just wanted to express my deepest sorrow for your loss. No doubt this is a very difficult time for you all, but please draw comfort from the fact that soon our heavenly Father has promised to make death "no more”, here on Earth, and also to bring back our loved ones that have already "fallen asleep" so we have a chance to be reunited with them (2Cor 1:3,4 Rev 21:3,4 John 5:28,29 & 1 Thess 4:14). Again, my condolences
