Wilma Jean Stelzer Lowry
Wilma Jean Stelzer Lowry, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds
Hospice Home surrounded by family and loved ones. A memorial service will be held at
2:00 pm on, July 27 at Parkway United Church of Christ with Pastor Craig Schaub offici-
ating. Family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
Wilma was born on November 30, 1929, in Barberton, Ohio to the late Clinton John and
Nellie Snader Stelzer. She was a graduate of Barberton High School, moved to Winston-
Salem with her family in 1964, and there was employed by Wachovia Bank in the Market-
ing Research Department. She was an active member at Parkway United Church of Christ,
Senior Democrats, the Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem, and several bridge clubs.
Wilma was enthusiastic about walking, camping, biking, exercised regularly at the
YWCA joining the Silver Sneakers group, swimming for exercise, and more recently
practiced Tai Chi. Wilma was loved and cherished by her family, friends, and associates
for her ability to reach common ground, to find the best in every situation, and to be a
wise and gentle advisor. Those who knew her will miss her dedicated friendship, her
selfless use of her time, and her beautiful loving smile.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband of 58 years, Gerald
Robert Lowry. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Falkenrich, her children, Ken
Lowry (Judy), Ron Lowry (Martha) and Nancy Toms (Randy). Her grandchildren are
Jennifer Lowry, James Lowry, Daniel Toms, and Sarah Toms, and numerous nieces and
nephews.

To Ken, Ron and Nancy,
We are out of town and so sorry to miss the service for your mom.
We loved your mom and always remember her positive
And loving spirit. Your mom and dad were wonderful people and had a positive influence on us when we were your neighbors on Elizabeth Avenue so many years ago.
God bless each of you.
Sylvia
