Charles Edwin Motsinger
Mr. Charles Edwin Motsinger, 85, died Saturday morning at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mr. Motsinger was born June 21, 1927 in Davidson County, NC to Conrad Franklin Motsinger and Nora Leonard Motsinger. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was an active member of Crews United Methodist Church for the past 62 years. Charles retired from Western Electric and enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially golf and had his Private Pilot’s License.
Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Motsinger and Herman Motsinger.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Robertson Motsinger, of the home, two daughters: Charlene Surratt and husband Mark, Kernersville, and Lisa Kerner and husband Ted, Winston-Salem, four grandsons: Matthew and Phillip Haithcock and Ted and David Kerner, one great granddaughter, Emma Haithcock, one brother, Wade Motsinger and wife Sue, Rural Hall and one sister, Catherine King, Lima, OH and by his beloved Chihuahua Abbey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Crews United Methodist Church by Rev. Brian Crady with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service and requests memorials be made to Crews United Methodist Church, 4150 Reidsville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 West Evergreen Ave., Suite 204, Chicago, IL 60642.
