Henry William Kreeger

Winston-Salem - Mr. Henry William Kreeger passed away on June 8, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Kreeger was born on January 12, 1931 to the late William Henry and Lottie Cathleen Kreeger. He retired from Piedmont Airlines and US Airways after 40 years of service. Willie always put friends and family first and enjoyed helping others. He also devoted many years of service to the Lord and attended Rosebud Christian Church, where he served as a deacon until his health prevented him from doing so. He was a great dad and hard worker who loved his family and friends dearly. Anyone who ever met Willie quickly realized his good nature and outgoing personality. Willie set the absolute best example as a father, husband, and grandfather. He provided for his family with love, honesty, and care while teaching lessons that could be carried on throughout life. Willie enjoyed his church family, golf, fishing, hunting, watching Wheel of Fortune, and NCIS. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Beauchamp and Myrtle Smith.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, JoAnne Dunlap Kreeger; two children, Donna K. Lindley and husband David, and A. Blake Kreeger and wife Cindy. Pawpaw Willie is also survived by his four grandchildren; Rob, Andrew, Eric, and Keva; and two sisters, Martha Shoaf and Janet Lane.

A funeral service will be held at Rosebud Christian Church in Walnut Cove at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2012. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10 from 6 – 8 pm at Salem Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rosebud Christian Church, 1918 Rosebud Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
