Lynn Forrester Dupree

Winston-Salem, NC - Lynn Forrester Dupree died on January 26, 2012 at The Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Hazzard, Kentucky on July 7, 1924. She was one of seven children born to HC Forrester Sr. and Thelma Butts Forrester. After high school graduation, she moved to San Diego, California where she worked and was involved in The Balboa Theater. Mrs. Dupree attended Georgia State University and several floral design schools.
She married Pinson Forrester and in 1952 they entered the florist business. She owned and operated Forrester’s Florist in Atlanta for 33 years. She always felt that she owed her employees a debt of gratitude…calling them her “family.” She had certain goals to achieve in her business and her life and she never wanted any notoriety. Mrs. Dupree was described by many as a true “Southern Lady.”
In 1973 Mrs. Dupree married Kenneth Dupree. She loved the theater, classical music, painting, her flower garden, her volunteer work at Plymouth Harbor and her many dear friends.
She spent the last two years of her life in North Carolina with her nephew and niece.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, a stepdaughter and many close friends. Memorials are requested to be made to Morris Chapel United Methodist Church at P O Box 57 in Walkertown, NC 27051 (the church who included her as their family the last two years of her life) or Hospice and Palliative Care Center 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
There will a graveside service Saturday January 28th at 11am at Arlington Memorial Park.

Beth Aderholt	I was very sorry to read of Lynn's death tonight in the paper. You will probably not know me,, but my husband, Dr. Ed Aderholt and I, were neighbors of Lynn's at one time. We had admired her home on Briarcliff Rd. for years, and when she put it up for sale, were very eager to see it. I thought it was charming, and the surrounding property gave it a feeling of being out in the country. We were fortunate to be able to obtain it and lived there happily for the following fifteen years.....ultimately retiring to Momroe, Ga. All this to say, that we had many business dealings together and found her to be a delightful person and very pleasant to do business with. She was truly a lovely lady, and it was our pleasure to have known her. My husband went to be with the Lord almost four years ago. I will be in prayer for the family for peace and comfort during this time...

Fredrick	To the family of Lynn Dupree -- all of us at Plymouth Harbor, Day Program for Older Adults in Atlanta, remember Lynn with much fondness and appreciation for her generosity and willingness to give so much of herself to benefit the program. She always brought a huge plate of steamed shrimp to the annual holiday party and helped decorate the room so beautifully. We were so sad to see the progression of dementia in Lynn and are grateful that she had a church family for the past two years. Thank you for your care of her the last years of her life.
